Georgia presents a list of missing soldiers to Russia

The Georgian party has handed over to Russia a list of 32 militaries, who disappeared in the course of Georgia's conflict with South Ossetia and Abkhazia in August 2008.

"We've accepted the list of missing servicemen from the Georgian party, and it will be published", Maxim Shevchenko, a member of the Russian Public Chamber, said on February 6 on the outcomes of the second session of the joint Russian-Georgian public commission on settling humanitarian problems in the Caucasus.

According to his version, the participants of the session exchanged the available information on the victims, missing from both parties, and about burial places. Mr Shevchenko has assured that the mixed public commission will go further, and the dialogue will remain apolitical.

"We've agreed to enter a particular dialogue with representatives of South Ossetia. Non-official sources confirm that the Ossetian party is interested in the dialogue," the "Osetinfo.ru" quotes Maxim Shevchenko as saying.

Malkhaz Gulashvili, head of the Georgian delegation, has noted in his turn the importance of the fact that the Russian-Georgian commission "is able to solve many problems already now, prior to restoration of full-fledged diplomatic relations", as the ITAR-TASS reports.
