"Voice of Beslan": keeping Ingushetian natives in underground prison is special agencies' provocation

The fact of keeping certain natives of Ingushetia in an underground prison as a vengeance for the tragedy in Beslan is a "provocation of special agencies", said Ella Kesaeva, co-chair of the "Voice of Beslan" organization, making comments on the case of Magomed Khamkhoev's kidnapping.

We remind you that Khamkhoev was detained in a private house in Serebryany Bor settlement, where an underground prison was found, where other natives of Ingushetia were kept.

"These are wilful actions aimed at inciting two nations against each other. It is the uttermost lawlessness; they try to ground it with reference to Beslan," Ms Kesaeva said.

"We, the victims of Beslan, are categorically against such actions, against any reference of such actions with the blood of our children," Ella Kesaeva has added on air of the "Echo Moskvy" Radio, having called on "everyone who heard this news not to give in to the provocation."

We remind you that Khamkhoev was kidnapped on September 14 in the Ramenki Street, where he came with his wife and two children to visit a private doctor. The kidnapping was accomplished as follows: when his wife with their two-year-old child went to the doctor, he remained in the car with his five-month-old son. The eyewitnesses said that two men broke the car windows with baseball clubs, pulled him out, beat and took in an unknown direction in their car. The baby was left in his father's car.

On September 17, Khamkhoev was found by a patrol-sentry unit of the OVD (interior division) of the Khoroshevo-Mnevniki District of Moscow. According to Khamkhoev, unknown persons had kept him in one of private cottages in Serebryany Bor; the kidnappers moved no demands, just beat and tortured him. On Wednesday, Khamkhoev was left alone in the house; he managed to knock the door out, get over the fence and run away.

Magomed Khamkhoev asserts that the criminals spoke the Ossetian language, and, he understood, they had relation to special agencies. According to the former hostage, he saw a dead body in the house in Serebryany Bor. The kidnappers showed him the body with traces of torture and said: "The same will be with you. This is our vengeance for Beslan."
