Armenian human rights activists are happy with their meeting with Thomas Hammarberg

Representatives of nongovernmental and human rights organizations of Armenia are happy with their meeting with Thomas Hammarberg, High Commissioner of the Council of Europe for Human Rights.

"Mr Hammarberg has made an important statement that once his report has been presented, it will be probable that in September, under certain circumstances, Armenia can be deprived of its vote at the PACE," Stepan Danielyan, representative of the NGO "Cooperation in the Name of Democracy", said on July 13 after the meeting with Thomas Hammarberg.

Mukael Danielyan, Chairman of the Helsinki Association of Armenia, has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Thomas Hammarberg is rather nicely informed about the situation with human rights in Armenia. He has characterized the meeting with Mr Hammarberg as "helpful and constructive."
