American human rights activists spoke supporting "School of Peace"
The Union of Councils (UCSI), an American human rights organization, which have been working for more than 30 years, and its Moscow Bureau on Human Rights express their deep concern about the lasting persecution of the Krasnodar human rights Fund "School of Peace".
On August 14, 2003 the UCSI appealed to the Russian Minister of Justice, the Russian Prosecutor General, and the Head of the Department of Justice of the Krasnodar Territory.
"The Fund "School of Peace" has a fine reputation in international circles as an independent and unbiased public organization. The lasting persecution of this human rights group by regional authorities means a detriment to regional political and social stability and freedoms, creates unfavorable conditions for local and foreign investments in regional industry and agriculture," the UCSI's statement reads, "We are sure, that it is in the interests of Russian democracy to put an end to the antidemocratic actions of Krasnodar authorities against the widely known and high-performance human rights Fund "School of Peace".
