In Chechnya, 91% of voters cast their votes, 88.7% - for Medvedev
In Chechnya, Dmitri Medvedev, the official "successor" of Vladimir Putin, was a confident winner of the presidential election.
"All 100 percent of ballot papers have already been processed and the result of presidential election of the Russian Federation in the Chechen Republic is known. 88.70% of the voters cast their ballots for Dmitri Medvedev. Vladimir Zhirinovsky was runner-up with 8.15% of votes. Then go Gennady Zyuganov - 2.19% and Andrei Bogdanov - 0.85% of the total number of votes," an employee of the Republic's Central Electoral Commission told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to his story, the voter turnout was very high as expected and made 91.20 percent of the total voters enlisted. In 2004, according to official data, 94 percent of the residents of Chechnya who had the right to vote took part in the presidential election.
The worker of the Republic's Electoral Commission has assured that there were no violations during the yesterday's election.
At the same time, many residents of the Chechen Republic did not take part in the election of the President of Russia, being confident that "everything was decided long ago," and this election is just a farce. They expressed this opinion in their conversations with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
