The fire at the Novoshakhtinsky oil refinery has been extinguished

Firefighters have extinguished a fire at an oil refinery in Novoshakhtinsk that broke out after a drone attack. Today, six private houses in the village of Novobessergenevka in the Neklinovsky District were damaged as a result of the drone crash.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, in Novoshakhtinsk, after a drone attack on the night of August 21, a fire broke out at an industrial enterprise, reported Acting Governor of the Rostov Region Yuri Slyusar. However, he did not specify which enterprise he was talking about. On August 23, the Novoshakhtinsk administration reported a difficult situation at the site of the fire. To extinguish the fire on the territory of the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery, according to the acting governor of the Rostov region Yuri Slyusar, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations from four regions arrived.

The fire at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery was extinguished today at 05:45 Moscow time, Yuri Slyusar reported on his Telegram channel.

He also reported that air defense shot down drones in the Millerovsky, Chertkovsky, Tarasovsky, Kasharsky and Neklinovsky districts, no one was hurt.

"In the village of Novobessergenevka in the Neklinovsky district, six private houses had broken windows, knocked out doors, and damaged walls and roofs. In one of the houses, the wall and roof were partially destroyed. A car was also damaged by debris," he said.

Recall that on the night of June 6, 2024, a fire broke out at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery after it was attacked by drones, which became the third since the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine.

Thus, on May 4, 2024, a drone exploded on the territory of the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery . The fire was then extinguished by the company's employees, there were no casualties.

Earlier, on June 22, 2022, the work of the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery was stopped after a fire, the wreckage of two drones was found at the enterprise. After the first strike, a fire broke out in the vacuum unit, the second strike did not lead to a fire. There were also no casualties or injuries as a result of the fire at the oil refinery. The refinery resumed operations on August 5, 2022.

The drone attack on the oil refinery in Novoshakhtinsk will not affect the combat capability of the Southern Military District troops or their fuel and lubricant supply in any way, military experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" said.
