Part of Makhachkala again left without power due to accident

The Makhachkala neighborhoods of GRS, Palmira, Zarya Vostoka and Ak-Gel were left without power this evening due to an accident at the Primorskaya substation.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, residents of Makhachkala were left without power due to a fire at the Novaya substation, and reported that in a number of houses, despite reports from power engineers, the power supply has not been restored. Residents were outraged by constant reports of interruptions and outages. By the evening of August 24, according to residents, there was no power on many streets - even those where, according to power engineers, the power supply had already been restored after the fire at the Novaya substation.

The Dagenergo Unified Contact Center reported late in the evening about another major power outage in Makhachkala. This time, the accident occurred at the Primorskaya substation.

Residents of the GRS, Palmira, Zarya Vostoka and Ak-Gel neighborhoods were left without power. The list published by power engineers includes more than 140 streets with the clarification that “power supply restrictions may be observed on adjacent streets and lanes.”

“The estimated time for completion of the work is being clarified,” the company’s official Telegram channel reported on 23:19 Moscow time.

Residents of Makhachkala and Kaspiysk have repeatedly complained about frequent power outages. In the summer, power outages also led to interruptions in water supply. On August 12 and 13, periodic outages and low water pressure were observed in some areas of Makhachkala and Kaspiysk. Entrepreneurs in Dagestan are suffering significant losses due to power outages, but are not trying to demand compensation for damages, considering litigation with Dagenergo to be surely a losing proposition.
