Posts about the fight at the Chermen post sparked controversy on social media

Ossetian social media users supported the order of Sergei Menyailo to close entry into the republic from Ingushetia in case of conflicts. Ingush users recalled that the borders between the regions have not been officially defined.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, Sergei Menyailo today instructed law enforcement agencies to close entry into the republic in case of domestic conflicts that could escalate into larger-scale and interethnic ones. This order was preceded by two brawls that occurred on the night of August 25 on the border of the two republics.

Commenting on the news about Menyailo's order to close the entrances to North Ossetia, readers of the Ingush publication "Fortanga" were outraged by the fact that the leadership of Ingushetia did not react to the conflict in any way. "Did Kalimatov call for something?" - asked the user muslimin8223 under the publication's publication on Instagram*. In total, 67 comments were left under this publication; the official authorities of Ingushetia have not commented on the situation as of 21:40 Moscow time today.

"Has anyone noticed that there is not a single sign with the inscription "Republic of Ingushetia" and there are no entry posts?", - wrote 77_saf_77. “They put up a sign because the border is not defined,” loam_0606 responded. “Yes, let’s close the borders and find out where they really are at the same time,” zzzurabbb noted. 

“What do you mean?? Like entering the territory of an unfriendly neighboring state? And is it not true that this shameful post should not exist in principle? There should be, for example, a fountain, flowers, a cafe, and the sign: “Welcome!” … Since this is a tourist cluster. Is it not true that all this is one country - Russia?!” - elenasevryukova was indignant. 

Under publications about the incident in Ingush and Ossetian channels there are comments from residents of both republics. Many of these comments are hostile and contain insults. “Why are you upset that you were denied entry? What are you doing in Ossetia? What are you doing there?” - oksana.alania wrote there.

“Ingush, with your actions and behavior you are creating the preconditions for tightening the fast and introducing certain restrictions for the Ingush in Vladikavkaz,” wrote user vladikavkaz.15_reg under the publication of the community chp_ingushetia on Instagram*. A total of 372 comments were left under the post.

“As long as we, Caucasians, continue to squabble among ourselves on ethnic grounds, none of us will ever become a nation. So we will remain wild natives,” - kapo__06 stated. “This is all wrong and bad, we need to live in peace and not insult anyone,” bokov_islamm noted.

“A couple of men can’t sort out their conflict among themselves, we need to gather teams from both sides and escalate the situation,” dhuli_edii was indignant.

The publication of the chp.ossetia community claims that “Ingush channels were outraged by the order of the head of North Ossetia to close the region’s border in the event of a threat of mass interethnic conflicts.” 60 comments were left under the post.

“We don’t give a damn about these indignations of neighboring channels. We need to think about our own safety,” gudvinar15 wrote. “Stop (...) provoking people. No one there was smart among those who were in conflict,” i_l_o_n_a_kazbekovna_ noted.
