The Rostov Region Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities has cut off the water supply to Krasny Sulin due to the fire in Novoshakhtinsk, the authorities promised to resume the water supply by the evening. The Novoshakhtinsk administration reported a difficult situation at the site of the fire.

Tank trucks from the Department for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies of the Rostov Region have arrived in the city to provide Krasnosulin residents with water," the report stated.

The Novoshakhtinskaya Administration reported that emergency response specialists continue to fight the fire at the Novoshakhtinsky enterprise. "The situation is difficult," the statement said.

"This morning, Rospotrebnadzor specialists took air samples in the area of apartment buildings on Mozhaisky Street. Official results: Nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, suspended particles, sulfur dioxide, and hydrogen sulfide comply with standards. The radiation situation is also normal (gamma background level). In the morning, the indicators are normal. But closer to the evening, along with a change in wind direction, the situation may worsen," the city authorities warned.

Recall that on the night of June 6, 2024, a fire broke out at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery after it was attacked by drones. It became the third since the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine.

Earlier, on June 22, 2022, the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery operation was stopped after a fire, and the wreckage of two drones was found at the plant. After the first strike, a fire broke out in the vacuum unit, the second strike did not cause a fire. There were also no casualties or injuries as a result of the fire at the oil refinery. The plant resumed operations on August 5, 2022.

The drone attack on the oil refinery in Novoshakhtinsk will not in any way affect the combat capability of the troops of the Southern Military District and their supply of fuel and lubricants, military experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" said.
