Contract soldier from Karachay-Cherkessia killed in Ukraine

Beslan Meremukov from the Karachayevsky District was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, the authorities have publicly named at least 148 servicemen from Karachay-Cherkessia killed there.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" reported, by August 19, the official authorities and representatives of the security forces admitted that more than 7,250 servicemen from the south of Russia were killed in combat in Ukraine, including 147 from Karachay-Cherkessia.

The name of another serviceman killed in Ukraine was named by the administration of the Karachayevsky District. Sergeant Beslan Meremukov, a native of the village of Khumara, signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense in June 2023, before that he worked as a driver in the bailiff service.

In October 2023, Meremukov was seriously wounded and underwent several operations, and on June 1, 2024, “without waiting for the next operation,” he returned to the combat zone, according to a message on the official Telegram channel of the municipality.

He was killed on September 27, 2024, at which time Meremukov turned 47 years old. He was awarded the Order of Courage posthumously.

Thus, at least 148 fighters from Karachay-Cherkessia have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front.
