Militiamen accused of torture refuse to plead guilty in Kabardino-Balkaria

Today, at the Elborus District Court of Kabardino-Balkaria the accused militiamen M. Mashezov and M. Baichekuev have presented their last plea. The militiamen charged with beating two teenagers and using torture to them, have refused to plead guilty and asked the court to acquit them.

Azamat Kokov, an officer of the District Prosecutor's Office, who supported the state prosecution, spoke at the debates of the parties and demanded that the defendants were punished by 10 years of imprisonment each with serving their term at a general custody colony.

The court will announce its verdict at the next session to be held on December 5.
