Police officers detained in the "Base" case

Police officers were detained in Kuban and two other regions of Russia for transmitting information to employees of the Telegram channel "Baza". The channel's editor-in-chief Gleb Trifonov and the producer of the information service Tatyana Lukyanova are suspected of giving a bribe.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, on July 22, security forces came to search the office of the Telegram channel "Baza", the editor-in-chief Gleb Trifonov was taken in for questioning. The Investigative Committee reported on a criminal case, within the framework of which searches were conducted in, in particular, Moscow and the Krasnodar Territory in a case of police officers transferring information for publication on a Telegram channel.

Employees of territorial divisions of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory, as well as Moscow, Krasnoyarsk Territory and Belgorod Region were detained for transferring information to third parties, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk reported on July 22 in her Telegram channel.

Volk reported that the detainees transferred information "that became known to them in the course of performing their official duties to third parties."

According to TASS, which cites sources in law enforcement agencies, this is about the transfer of information to employees of the Baza Telegram channel ("Base").

The Investigative Committee of Russia reported in its Telegram channel that three police officers were detained in the Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk Territories, as well as the Belgorod Region, who will delivered to Moscow for investigative actions.

The department also reported that Baza editor-in-chief Gleb Trifonov and his unnamed colleague. They are suspected of bribery (Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). They were delivered to the investigator for questioning.

According to TASS, the second suspect is Baza information service producer Tatyana Lukyanova.
