Witnesses in Dalgatov's death case refute statements of one of the accused

At the trial of the case of the murder of Makhachkala resident Kurban Dalgatov, two police officers testified, who refuted the testimony of one of the accused, Magomed Malikov, who stated that he was in another office at the time of Dalgatov's death.

As reported by "Kavkazsky Uzel", in July 2024, the investigation was completed into the case of 11 employees of the Sovetsky District Police Department of Makhachkala, accused in the case of Dalgatov's death. The case of two more security officials, Atavov and Babayev, who entered into a pre-trial agreement, was separated into separate proceedings. In December 2024, the court sentenced Makhachkala police officer Islam Atavov to 7.5 years in prison for his involvement in the death of Kurban Dalgatov, and in November of the same year, granted the request to release Marat Babayev to the military operation zone in Ukraine. At the court hearing on July 7, the second victim in the case Bulat Atayev told how he was tortured and how he heard Dalgatov's screams.

At the court hearing on the case of the murder of Makhachkala resident Kurban Dalgatov, the police department heard the testimony of two witnesses on July 21. They concerned one of the accused, Magomed Malikov, Dalgatov's mother Raisa told a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to her, Malikov's lawyer, who was among the first three detained in the case, claims that he was not involved in the murder, since at that time he was holding the other victim, Atayev, in the neighboring office against the wall.

However, at the hearing, active police officer Sarkhan Radzhabov was questioned, who said that Malikov put a bag in his trunk, which later, as it turned out, contained a TAPIK - a military field telephone used for torture. All this happened early in the morning after the death of Kurban Dalgatov.

Then the state prosecutor read out the testimony of the same witness, which he gave to the investigator on the day of Dalgatov's murder, where he said that Malikov put a bag with a TAPIK in his car and asked him to hide it, because he was afraid that it would be found during the search of his home. "The same officer then voluntarily handed over the TAPIK to the officers of the Internal Affairs Department," Raisa Dalgatova said.

According to her, another police officer, Ali Aliyev, was questioned as a prosecution witness, and he also refuted Malikov's testimony, which downplayed his role in Dalgatov's murder.

"Judge Patimat Makhatilova gave Malikov's defense and himself the opportunity to ask questions of witnesses and Malikov's former colleagues. But neither Malikov's lawyers nor he himself could counter the testimony of his former colleagues," Dalgatova emphasized.

The next court hearing will be held on July 23.

Recall that on January 20, 2023, before the arrest of 35-year-old Kurban Dalgatov, a conflict between two men occurred on the street. According to investigators, one of them shot his opponent and escaped with the help of Dalgatov. Kurban Dalgatov was found and detained. His health worsened at the police station and he was taken to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead. Relatives said that Dalgatov died of suffocation, which occurred after he was "shocked in the heart area." The man received injuries before his death, the Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed.
