Kuban lost tourists amid fuel oil spill

The number of tourists in the Krasnodar Territory has fallen by more than 13% due to the fuel oil spill, while prices have risen at the resorts of Kuban.

Tourists' interest in the Krasnodar Territory has noticeably decreased. According to TravelLine calculations, the share of the Krasnodar Territory in the structure of hotel sales for July-August of this year at the end of June was 17%, which is 6% less than in the same period last year. Ostrovok reported that the share of the Krasnodar Territory has fallen by 13% in the overall structure of hotel sales in Russia, Kommersant reported today.

The main source of losses in the Krasnodar Territory is Anapa, which has no beaches this season. However, according to the tour operator "Alean" as of the end of June, even interest in trips to Sochi has decreased by 20% compared to 2024.

According to Ostrovok's calculations, the average price of accommodation in the Krasnodar Territory in July-August is 6.4 thousand rubles per night, which is 16% higher than in the same period of 2024. The smallest price increase, according to Ostrovok, was shown by Anapa - 5% year-on-year, the average bill per night is 4.9 thousand rubles. On the coast of Sochi, the growth is estimated at 13%, up to 6.4 thousand rubles. In Gelendzhik - 15%, up to 6.7 thousand rubles, the publication says.

At the same time, in Anapa they can provide discounts from 15% to 55% depending on the cost of accommodation, the publication reported with reference to the tour operator "Alean". In Sochi, the size of the discounts is 10-30%, and additional bonuses can also be offered.

The publication "Vestnik ATOR * Association of Tour Operators of Russia" published a report on holidays in Dzhemete. Thus, in the area of Dzhemetinsky proezd and nearby, only three or four 3-4 * hotels with swimming pools and an "all inclusive" system were open at the beginning of July. "A great many facilities in the area, including, for example, the large 3* Chalet Provence complex with its own canteen and wine shops, the Galatea, White Beach and Chernomorskaya hotels on the first line, cheap tourist centers and guest houses without meals or with breakfasts - simply did not start working. Some mini-markets, small private pharmacies, canteens, and fast food kiosks are also closed. Almost all retail outlets near the sea have been closed, it is deserted," the publication from July 18 says.

Recall that Rospotrebnadzor has recognized 141 beaches in Anapa and nine beaches in the Temryuk district as unsuitable for recreation. Signs with information about the ban on swimming have been installed there, announcements about this are also displayed on video screens in different areas of Anapa.

In addition, government officials are patrolling the coastal areas and asking vacationers not to visit these places. When checking into hotels and resorts, tourists are required to sign written notices about the ban on swimming and health risks.
