Contract soldier from Volgograd region killed in military operation

Anatoly Shevalov was killed in combat in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the military operation, at least 1,256 fighters from the Volgograd region have been officially recognized as killed in it.

Anatoly Shevalov from the Kalachevsky district, a combat veteran and father of four, was killed in the military operation, the Volgograd publication Gorodskie Vesti reports, the founder of which is listed as a municipal institution.

Shevalov worked as a fitter at the Chirskaya track section, the Volgograd railway workers' union reported on its Telegram channel. "Anatoly was 40 years old. He left for the North Military District in August 2023, having signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense. He worked at the section for more than 8 years," the publication says.

Thus, at least 1,256 fighters from the Volgograd region have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.
