Pension funds stolen from post office in Dagestanskiye Ogni

Payments to pensioners from the city of Dagestanskiye Ogni, who receive money at the post office, have been delayed due to the theft of 60 million rubles by the head of the department.

The theft of funds intended for pension payments was reported today by the Dagestan branch of the Social Fund.

According to the department, the money for pension payments in Dagestanskiye Ogni was transferred on time and in full. "However, due to the illegal actions of the head of the local post office, who, according to preliminary data, stole about 60 million rubles and disappeared, payments to pensioners for July were delayed," the Chernovik publication quotes the Social Fund as saying.

Security officials are investigating the theft; the money for pension payments will be transferred to the accounts of the federal postal service department today, the department noted. They added that pension payments through banks are being made as usual, and funds are being credited to pensioners' accounts according to schedule.

Blogger from Dagestanskie Ogni Ramis Agabekov posted a video on his Instagram page*, recorded together with the head of the Derbent main post office Muslim Serderov. The latter assured that all pensioners in Dagestan will receive money by Tuesday, July 22.
