Video of attack on Timur Khizriev published

Two people shot at Dagestani MMA fighter Timur Khizriev when he got out of his car in the yard of his house, according to a published video.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" reported, the attack on MMA fighter Timur Khizriev took place on the evening of July 15 on Daniyalov Street in Makhachkala. Two people ambushed Khizriev in the yard of his house and shot at him when he got out of his car. Khizriev was hospitalized with five wounds, he is in stable condition.

Video footage of the attack on Khizriev, recorded by a street surveillance camera at night, was published today by the Mash Gor Telegram channel.

"Masked people waited for him in the yard and opened fire. He tried to escape, but could not. Preliminary, it was all because of an old conflict," the annotation to the video says.

The footage shows Khizriev getting out of an SUV, after which a man runs up to him and shoots at the athlete. During the ensuing scuffle, both fall to the asphalt, at which point another man runs up and also shoots at Timur Khizriev. He gets up and runs away, and one of the attackers shoots him twice again.

Timur Khizriev is a mixed martial artist who has competed in PFL, Bellator and other tournaments, Gazeta.Ru reports.

As of 06.50 Moscow time, the Dagestan Ministry of Internal Affairs website has not published any information about the incident.
