Almost 400 cars stuck in traffic jam in front of Crimean bridge

Drivers and passengers of 385 vehicles are waiting in Krasnodar Krai for permission to cross the bridge across the Kerch Strait.

As reported by "Kavkazsky Uzel", as of 07:00 Moscow time on July 7, there were 950 vehicles in line to the Crimean Bridge from the Taman side.

Today, according to data as of 06:00 Moscow time, the traffic jam in front of the bridge from the Kuban side is about 385 vehicles. The waiting time for passage is more than an hour, the Information Center for Highways to the Crimean Bridge reports on its Telegram channel.

"There is no line in front of the inspection point from the Kerch side," the message says. From 23:00 Moscow time on July 7 until 5:00 Moscow time on July 8, traffic on the bridge was carried out without delays.

Users of the "Crimean Bridge Chat" Telegram chat also talk about the situation in front of the bridge across the Kerch Strait; many claim that difficulties with travel were observed throughout the night.

"We got in line at 2:50, and are still standing here, we moved five cars in half an hour. We haven't moved at all in the last 1.5 hours," wrote Svetlana Homa at 4:59 Moscow time.

"We got in line at 00:10, and passed the scanner a few minutes ago," shared user Maria at 5:49 Moscow time.

"We got in line at 4:56, and arrived for inspection at 6:05," wrote Evgeny today Kartsev.

Recall that on July 17, 2023, the Crimean Bridge was attacked by Ukrainian drones, one span was destroyed, another was damaged. Traffic on the bridge was restored only on November 1 of the same year.

On October 8, 2022, an explosion occurred on the Crimean Bridge, two spans collapsed. Vladimir Putin called the incident a terrorist attack, the FSB stated that the organizer of the terrorist attack was the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The traffic on the bridge was resumed a month later.
