Rights defenders start fundraising for Polyudova's advocate
Darya Polyudova, an activist from Kuban (Krasnodar Territory), faces pressure in the Kostroma colony; and her advocate helps her in defending her rights.
Today, the “Open Space” human rights project has announced a fundraiser to pay for Darya Polyudova's advocate. The advocate visits Darya in Kostroma Colony No. 8 every few months, monitors her safety, and deals with her complaints.
"Thanks to these visits, the custody conditions are improving; and other prisoners have finally stopped pressing Darya," the initiators of the fundraiser have explained in the project's Telegram channel.
Human rights defenders have noted that Polyudova "still faces pressure from the administration" of the colony, although to a lesser extent than in her previous colony in Kabardino-Balkaria.
The fundraising to pay for Polyudova's advocate is on the mutual aid platform "Zaodno" (Together). The target amount is 80,000 roubles. This, as the "Open Space" claims, will be enough for "the coming months." As of 6:50 p.m. Moscow time today, 6400 roubles have been raised.
