Eight Dagestani residents sentenced to prison terms in airport riot case

A court in the Stavropol Territory has sentenced eight Dagestani residents to long terms of freedom deprivation, finding them guilty of taking part in the riots held at Makhachkala Airport.

The Grachevsky District Court has found eight Dagestani residents guilty under Part 2 of Article 212 (participation in mass riots) and Part 3 of Article 263.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (failure to comply with transport safety at transport infrastructure facilities). One of them was also convicted under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Russian Criminal Code (use of violence against a state official), the Prosecutor's Office (PO) of the Stavropol Territory has reported today.

The defendants have been sentenced to imprisonment at a general regime colony for terms ranging from 8 to 10 years, the PO has reported, without specifying terms of particular persons. The PO hasn’t also specified who of them was found guilty of using violence against a law enforcer.
