Jehovah's Witness* from Taganrog reports health worsening in colony

Alexander Skvortsov, a Jehovah's Witness*, who is serving his term in a colony located in the Ulyanovsk Region, has complained about his deteriorating health. He has high blood pressure and often suffers from headaches due to working at a hazardous production facility.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in June 2023, the court sentenced Alexander Skvortsov, a Jehovah's Witnesses* from Taganrog, to seven years in colony, and Vladimir Moiseenko – to six years, finding them members of an extremist organization.

As reported by the "OVD-Info"** project, Skvortsov worked in a sewing shop, but it was closed, and the convict was transferred for working in galvanic production. There he has to work standing all day and breathe in harmful substances. Skvortsov has complained that his blood pressure rises and he regularly has headaches. Besides, he lives in a cold cell and is forced to sleep in warm clothes. There is also no hot water in the barracks.

*All the 396 Russian organizations of Jehovah's Witnesses were recognized as extremist, and their activities in Russia were banned by court decision.
