Court places advocate of blogger Kharchenko* in custody
Advocate Natalia Fedorenko has been placed in custody in a case on violation of privacy. The defence intends to lodge an appeal against the court’s decision.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that Natalia Fedorenko, accused of violating privacy, filed a complaint to the chair of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) against the judge’s actions and unlawful criminal prosecution. The judge deliberately creates conditions that provoke the defence into conflict. He has also requested that Natalia Fedorenko, who is sick with coronavirus, be brought to the court hearing by force, the advocate claims. The prosecution of Natalia Fedorenko is related to the fact that during the consideration of the case on illegal construction, she challenged the judge explaining that he was treating his dog in a veterinary clinic located in the building in question. Natalia Fedorenko believes her persecution is an attempt to deprive her of her status as an advocate.
Natalia Fedorenko is the advocate of Vadim Kharchenko*, a blogger from Gelendzhik, the trial in whose case was closed on September 26 after the media began to cover it.
*Included by the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) into the register of foreign agents.
