Anna Tsomartova's father fired from MIA for criticizing inquiry into her disappearance

After criticizing law enforcing bodies for the inefficient inquiry into the disappearance of Anna Tsomartova, a North-Ossetian athlete, in Kaspiysk, her father Nikolai Tsomartov was fired from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for violating the ethic norms.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 2, 2024, Anna Tsomartova's mother sent a complaint to the Dagestani MIA, in which she stated that Gayana Garieva, the press secretary of the local MIA, had spread false information about her daughter's suicide.

The reason for Nikolai Tsomartov's dismissal was violations of the laws "On the Police" and "On Service in the Internal Affairs Bodies of the Russian Federation", as well as the code of ethics and disciplinary regulations for the MIA's servants, the "15th Region" Telegram channel has reported.

Earlier, Nikolai had placed several posts in the "Anna Tsomartova" Telegram channel about the searching process for his daughter, in which he criticized the work of the Dagestani FSB and MIA branches. He has also expressed dissatisfaction with the inquiry progress. Nikolai Tsomartov said that his dismissal order was a surprise to him.

The search for Anna Tsomartova is underway since February 12 of this year. Her mother said that she disappeared in Kaspiysk after she lost a fight at a tournament and was in a depressed state.
