Tsomartova announces lack of progress in case on her daughter’s disappearance
When entering the Russian presidential reception, Diana Tsomartova claimed the absence of results of the investigation into the disappearance of her daughter, who disappeared in Dagestan. The woman also filed complaints to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) and the FSB.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on April 15, the mother of the disappeared athlete recorded a video appeal to the Russian President and government asking for assistance in finding her daughter. In Dagestan, investigators are ineffectively investigating the disappearance of athlete Anna Tsomartova, her parents have claimed. They have asked the Russian authorities to transfer the case to Moscow investigators.
The search for Anna Tsomartova, a native of North Ossetia, has been ongoing since February 12. The athlete disappeared in the city of Kaspiysk after she was defeated in a tournament and was depressed. Investigators have instituted a case on murder, and a kidnapping version is also being considered.
“I said that the investigation was not progressing at all. Although I have not reproached the Investigating Committee, but on the contrary, I’ve emphasized that they are making all efforts, they are doing something. I’ve said that the family is being subjected to severe harassment and that no one has been prosecuted for that. They threw mud at our family members. I’ve reported all that, including the progress of the investigation and how and under what circumstances our daughter disappeared,” stated Diana Tsomartova as quoted by the “161.ru” portal.
