Kuban resident fined for calls to terrorism

A court in Rostov-on-Don has found Vladimir Yarotsky, a resident of the Krasnodar Territory (also known as Kuban by the name of the main river), guilty of calls for terrorism and imposed a fine of 350,000 roubles on him, the human rights project "OVD-Info"* has reported with reference to the press service of the court.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this January, a court in Krasnodar sentenced Vladimir Yarotsky to 1.5 years in colony, after treating an image with Saint George ribbon posted by him in a social network as desecration of the military glory symbol. Then, he admitted his guilt. The Krasnodar Territorial Court sent Yarotsky's case for revision after the Prosecutor's Office demanded to toughen the punishment. In March, a new case was submitted to the Southern District Military Court; Yarotsky was charged with calls for terrorism.

According to investigators, on July 31, 2022, Yarotsky posted a message in the "VKontakte" social network containing calls for terrorism.
