In Quarter One of 2024, nine people were killed and one was wounded in armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

In the period from January 1 to March 31, 2024, at least ten people suffered in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus: nine were killed and one was wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot", based on its own materials and information from open sources.

The given statistics cannot accurately reflect the number of victims. Not all the data is included into news bulletins. It is not always possible to check how true the statements of law enforcement bodies are; and new data on the events that happened in the reporting period become known sometimes after the publication of statistics on the "Caucasian Knot".

On March 2, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in central Karabulak. The National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) reported that when they tried to detain militants, they opened fire on law enforcers; a shootout broke out; and residents of nearby houses were evacuated.

At night on February 14, in the village of Stary Achkhoi, Achkhoi-Martan District of Chechnya, three men with firearms attacked a policeman and were shot dead. One policeman was wounded. Ramzan Kadyrov said that two grouping members had planned attacks on law enforcers and were detained.

Earlier, in Quarter Four of 2023, one person perished and three others were injured. A year ago, in the Quarter One of 2023, seven persons perished, and two others were wounded.
