Relatives’ words aggravate suspicions about possible murder of Seda Suleimanova
The likelihood that Seda Suleimanova, a native of Chechnya, is dead is quite high, and the suspicions are intensified after a statement of her repeated escape voiced by her relatives, suggests Seda’s friend Lena Patyaeva. Relatives of Seda Suleimanova voice controversial statements and do not try to look for her after the reported escape, note human rights defender Alexandra Miroshnichenko.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that an investigator in Chechnya summoned Lena Patyaeva for questioning in the case on the murder of her friend Seda Suleimanova, who was taken away by her relatives from Saint Petersburg and stopped getting in touch with her friends. Lena Patyaeva considers the version about new escape of Seda Suleimanova questionable.
On February 7, the “SK SOS Crisis Group”* reported that sources in Chechnya voiced a version about the murder of Seda Suleimanova by her relatives.
Lena Patyaeva notes that she has got mixed feelings about the institution of a criminal case in Chechnya. “On the one hand, I’m glad that they began to take some action in the official legal field. On the other hand, I definitely don’t believe in the family’s version of a Seda’s alleged second escape. And that’s why I’m very scared for the Seda’s life. I’m afraid that if her relatives say that she ran away from them, this is actually <...> a confession of murder,” the Seda’s friend said.
According to the report of Alexandra Miroshnichenko, a human rights defender from the “SK SOS Crisis Group”*, there are grounds to believe that Seda Suleimanova is no longer alive.
