KBR authorities report on expenses on Palestinian refugees
The government of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) has allocated 24.3 million roubles for the six-month maintenance of 102 refugees from Palestine who had arrived in the republic.
In December 2023, a group of 50 internally displaced persons (forced migrants) from Gaza Strip, including 21 children, arrived in the KBR and were placed in a sanatorium in Nalchik. Refugees said they faced a lack of job offers and a lack of cash. They expressed hope that local authorities will resolve the issue of educating children in local schools.
KBR authorities have allocated more than 24 million roubles for the migrants from Palestine, the administration of the republic's head have reported in its Telegram channel.
Let us recall that on March 9, 2024, the Russian government provided eight regions, including three republics of Northern Caucasus (Dagestan, Ingushetia and Karachay-Cherkessia), with compensations for the expenses for accommodation and nutrition of Palestinian refugees. The largest amount (7.26 million roubles) was allocated to Dagestan, where 183 refugees from the Gaza Strip had arrived by February 28.
