Volgograd TV channel organizes persecution of Alexei Navalny’s supporters

In Volgograd, a local TV channel has disclosed the names of people who brought flowers to the monument to the victims of political repressions in memory of Alexei Navalny, calling them potential “saboteurs.”

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on February 16, Alexei Navalny died in a penal colony. Residents of Russia, including in the south of the country, have been persecuted for their attempts to lay flowers in memory of Alexei Navalny at the memorials to the victims of political repressions.

The names and the personal information of those who participated in the actions in memory of Alexei Navalny in Volgograd were disclosed by a local TV channel, the “OVD-Info”* human rights project reports.

“For two weeks by now we have been conducting an investigation into who is laying flowers. These people teach our children, and they work for banks and large companies,” says a TV presenter. After that, he begins to announce names of the persons, indicating their places of work, and a photograph of each person appears on the screen.
