Pyatigorsk court sentences military serviceman to six years in colony for being absent from his unit

In Pyatigorsk, the garrison military court has sentenced a military serviceman to six years in penal colony for his three-month absence from his military unit.

According to the court, the soldier left his unit for the first time on February 22, 2023, and returned to service only on May 5, stating that he wanted to relax and stay at home. The second time he went home without permission on June 15 and returned to his unit on June 23. The court has emphasized that the soldier had no valid reasons for absence from service, and found him guilty of leaving his unit without permission.

As reported on the court's website, on January 30, Vladimir Musatkin was convicted under the same article.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 3, 2023, a military court in Stavropol sentenced Nikolai Polukarov, a mobilized resident of the Izobilnensky District, to 2.5 years of conditional imprisonment, also finding him guilty of leaving his military unit without permission.
