Widow of Dagestani Kurban Dalgatov complains about pressure because of inquiry into her husband's death

Unknown persons place threatening comments in social networks, Amina Dalgatova, the widow of Kurban Dalgatov, a Makhachkala resident, who died after being detained by law enforcers. The total number of detainees within the case of Dalgatov's death has reached seven, said Shamil Khadulaev, a member of the Public Chamber of Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 3, Shamil Khadulaev announced the arrest of another policeman in the case of Dalgatov's murder.

On January 21, 2023, Kurban Dalgatov was taken to one of Makhachkala police stations, after which he died. Relatives stated that he died from suffocation, which occurred after Dalgatov was "given electric shocks to the heart area." According to the police, there was a conflict in the street among two men; one of them shot at his opponent and fled with the help of a 35-year-old man, who was later found and detained. At the police station, his health worsened; he was hospitalized, but died.

Amina Dalgatova, Kurban's widow, believes that law enforcers have to do with threats against her.

"I often write about these policemen in social networks. And someone, probably from the 'left-wing' pages, writes to me demanding to calm down, otherwise they threaten to calm me down. This is such psychological pressure. But it doesn't work on me," she the widow has stated.

Kurban Dalgatov was 34; he was a master of sports in freestyle wrestling; he graduated from the Russian State University of Physical Culture (known as RGUFK), the Department of Sports, Youth and Tourism, in Moscow, she has added.

Magomed Malikov, a policeman, one of the figurants in Dalgatov's death case, has stated that he is innocent. But even if he was not involved in torturing Dalgatov, he was inactive, Amina Dalgatova has stated.
