“Rosgvardiya” fighter from North Ossetia does not agree with authorities’ refusal to pay compensation to him
The injury, for which Khizri Kurazov, a fighter of the “Rosgvardiya” (National Guard of Russia) from North Ossetia, is seeking compensation, was got in the barracks, but led to severe damage to his health. The military court, and then the court of appeal dismissed the appeal filed by Khizri Kurazov, as the court practice regarding payments for injuries had become more stringent, emphasized lawyers.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that the Nalchik Garrison Military Court refused a payment of compensation to Khizri Kurazov for his injury got during the special military operation in Ukraine, since, according to the case materials, he got it as a result of the actions of Russian militaries.
According to Khizri Kurazov, he was injured in the barracks and got brain concussion and blast injury. None of the victims received any payments in compensation, because commanders stated that careless handling of ammunition took place. “In fact, we saw that this was a deliberate action,” noted Khizri Kurazov.
Military lawyer Stanislav Gavrilov pointed out that last year, fighters were paid for any injuries during the special military operation (SMO), and starting from this year, only fighters who got an injury during a clash with the enemy can receive compensation.
To determine the validity of the claim for compensation, an official investigation is necessary, emphasizes military lawyer Daria Daryina. According to her, there are many cases where injuries were caused not in a combat situation, although in the special military operation zone, for example, in a brawl between military personnel.
