KBR: two military servicemen convicted for non-appearance at military unit

The Nalchik Garrison Military Court in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) has sentenced two soldiers, who failed to appear at their military unit, to real prison terms.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 24, 2022, after the announcement of the partial mobilization, the respective article of the Russia's Criminal was added with sanctions for an unauthorized abandonment of a military unit or place of service during the mobilization for more than a month. They provides for five to ten years in prison. On June 13, 2023, the Vladikavkaz Military Court found Sergey Sorochinsky, a contract serviceman, guilty of leaving his unit without permission during the mobilization period and sentenced him to 5.5 years in colony.

This time, the Nalchik Garrison Military Court has found the militaries, Misrokov and Lyuev, guilty of leaving their unit during the mobilization period, and sentenced them to 3 and 3.5 years in prison, accordingly, the SOTA Telegram channel has reported.

According to the court, in November 2022, the convicts failed to appear at their military unit. Misrokov and Lyuev arrived at the investigating body on February 16, 2023, and entered into a pre-trial agreement, which assumed "assistance in solving a serious crime committed by another person," but this did not help them in avoiding real prison terms.
