Comment in social network turns into fine for Stavropol resident

A court in Stavropol has fined Rasim Gamidov, a local resident, by 30,000 roubles after finding that his social media comment had discredited Russian militaries.

According to investigators, Gamidov has posted a comment in the "VKontakte" social network criticizing the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on June 22, 2023, a court in Pyatigorsk fined Evgeny Loginov, a local resident, by 15,000 roubles, admitting that the pacifist slogans he shouted discredited Russian militaries.

*Included by the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) into the register of foreign agents.
