Krasnodar resident arrested for posting Ukrainian symbols in social media

A court in Krasnodar has found the posting of a flag on a social network with a slogan glorifying Ukraine as a demonstration of extremist symbols and arrested Mikhail Lyakh, a local resident, for 15 days.

According to the human rights project "OVD-Info"*, the reason for the arrest was the publication on the social network "VKontakte" of the flag of Ukraine with a slogan in support of this country. According to the court, the flag and slogan are "used by 'prohibited organizations.'" Mikhail Lyakh pleaded guilty and repented, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project reports.

Let us remind you that under the article on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces, they prosecute and sentence the activists, who go out to protest and post messages in group chats in social networks. In May this year, Oleg Kazarenko, a resident of the city of Tuapse, was fined for discrediting the Russian Army for posting a pacifist video in a WhatsApp** group.
