Statement by Djambetov's father is unique for Chechen emigration

The decision of Khusein Djambetov's father not to avenge his son if he is killed is the first such case among the Chechen political emigration, Ruslan Kutaev, the president of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations, and an activist of the "Vayfond" Association have stated. The behaviour of his son forced the father to make this statement, although in Chechnya such cases occurred under authorities' pressure, Oyub Titiev, a human rights defender, has noted.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Djambetov's transfer to Ramzan Kadyrov's side had caused a wide discussion. After returning to Chechnya, he posted a video in which he boasted of taking part in killing Ukrainian militaries. Khusein Djambetov's father has stated in the audio record that he would forgive the blood feudist who would kill his son. Khusein Djambetov began handing over the Chechens, who had been in their house and expressed disagreement with the actions of Chechen authorities, including Imam Valid Kuruev, to authorities, a local clergyman said.

According to law enforcers, Khusein Djambetov had taken part in creating the "Separate Special Purpose Battalion of the Armed Forces of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria", which is part of the Foreign Legion acting within the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A permit to commit execution, if a person has committed an extremely bad act, is sometimes allowed by Adats, an activist of the "Vayfond" human rights association has stated. "When a relative is guilty of anything ... But among Chechen political emigrants, among Kadyrov's opponents, this has never happened," the source has noted.

"I am sincerely sorry for Djambetov's father. He is a worthy man; and he can hardly endure the his son's betrayal," the commentator of the "Caucasian Knot" with the nickname carey has written.
