Fine on Igor Korotkov from Adygea for fakes about Russian Army upheld
The court of appeal has upheld the verdict to Igor Korotkov, a resident of Adygea, who was fined by 800,000 roubles for fakes about the Russian Army.
Korotkov reported that he was dissatisfied with the work of the appointed advocate, who "refused to even help write petitions," but he had no money to hire an advocate by agreement.
The Krasnogvardeisky District Court of Adygea has treated the video about the Russian Army, the link to which was posted by Korotkov in the messenger as a fake.
Korotkov plans to file a complaint with the Court of Cassation. "I continue my social activities. However, I now post no videos. But I write complaints about garbage removal," he has explained.
According to his story, the link he had posted led to a repost of a video that contained an allegation about the actions of Russian militaries in Ukraine. "This was stated as blame against me. But this is not my statement, but by the author of the video," Mr Korotkov has added.
Lawyers have stated earlier that messages posted in public group chats can become a reason for accusations of fakes about the Russian Army, but one's personal correspondence should not become the basis for such cases.
