Former critic of Kadyrov boasts of participation in killings of Ukrainians

After returning to Chechnya, blogger Khusein Djambetov, suspected of involvement in an Ichkerian community in Ukraine, posted a video in which he boasted of participating in killing Ukrainian soldiers.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in October 2022, a criminal case was instituted against 40-year-old Khusein Djambetov under the article on participation in the creation of a terrorist community. According to the law enforcers’ information, Khusein Djambetov participated in the creation of the “Separate Special Purpose Battalion of the Armed Forces of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria”, a part of the Foreign Legion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On May 14, it became known that Khusein Djambetov returned to Chechnya. His transfer to the side of Ramzan Kadyrov provoked a wide discussion among Internet users, but it did not affect the activities of Ichkerians, state supporters of the self-proclaimed Ichkeria.

Blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov posted on his telegram channel a fragment of Khusein Djambetov’s video message. “I killed them (Ukrainian soldiers) because I heard that they were encroaching on Chechen honour and Chechen blood,” Khusein Djambetov said as quoted by the annotation to the video.

Let us remind you that on May 14, a video message was posted on the Internet in which Khusein Djambetov announced that he arrived in Chechnya thanks to the “fathers of the country” and voiced threats against those who imagined the situation in Chechnya not like it really was.
