Kadyrov reports on check of video of burning Koran in Moscow

Chechen experts, jointly with the FSB and the Moscow Mayoralty, are establishing the author of the video about the burning of the Koran near the White Lake, Ramzan Kadyrov has reported, emphasizing his personal participation in this check. He has treated the incident with the burning of the Koran in Moscow as a provocation after the settlement of the conflict over the construction of a new mosque in Moscow.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 17, Ramzan Kadyrov promised to pay 5 million roubles for the execution of the participants in the video, in which a page from the Koran was used to light a fire, and 10 million roubles for catching them alive. The video shows people in military uniforms similar to those of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Social media users have treated the video as a staged one.

Earlier, amid the reports about authorities' plans to allow the construction of a mosque near the Holy Lake, where the Orthodox Church is located, protests were held in Moscow. On April 3, a video appeared on the Internet, in which people in military uniform, calling themselves participants in the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine, promised to fight against the construction of the mosque.

On April 3, Kadyrov stated that opponents of the construction of a mosque in Moscow should be mobilized or go to trial.

Human rights defenders have noted that Kadyrov got involved in the construction of the mosque in order to show himself as the main defender of Russia's Muslims and demonstrate his increased influence, although formally he has no right to interfere in the events that take place in another region.
