Pacifist post turns into fine for KBR resident

Islam Bambetov, a resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), has been fined for discrediting the Russian Army.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 4, 2022, an article on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces was added to the Code of Administrative Offenses (known as KoAP), after which residents of the Southern and North-Caucasian Federal Districts (SFD and NCFD) began to be held accountable under this article. A repeated violation thereof committed within a year threatens with criminal prosecution.

The above resident of the Zolsky District of the KBR placed a pacifist post in the social network, which was treated by the court as discrediting Russian militaries, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project has informed.

"Mambetov was aware of the unlawful nature of his actions; and he foresaw the harmful consequences thereof," the project quotes the court ruling.

Let us remind you that on March 31 it became known that the Nalchik City Court had fined Rustam Nagoev, a local resident, under the above article on discrediting Russian militaries.
