Kuban woman considers case on financing terrorism as revenge of law enforcers

A case on financing terrorism instituted against Irina Dudka, a native of Kuban, was the revenge of the law enforcement bodies for protests against the sentence of her sister, who was convicted on a similar charge, Irina Dudka herself said. The person who received from Irina Dudka the money transfer for air tickets was involved as a witness in the criminal cases against Abdulmumin Gadjiev, a journalist from Dagestan, and Giorgy Guev, a native of North Ossetia, who were also accused of financing terrorists.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in December 2021, a court sentenced Olga Petrova, a native of the Krasnodar Territory, to seven years of imprisonment, finding her guilty of financing terrorism. Olga Petrova’s sister Irina Dudka said that she left Russia because of the threats to her life and freedom from the law enforcement bodies.

Olga Petrova was accused of making money transfers to Sagid Kazimagomedov, a resident of Dagestan, who, according to the investigators’ version, was raising money for militants and buying air tickets for those who wanted to join the militants of the “Islamic State” (IS, a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, – note of the “Caucasian Knot”) in Syria.

Irina Dudka herself denies her involvement in any radical ideologies and groupings. “I am an ardent opponent of terrorism and have never supported any terrorist groupings either financially or morally,” the native of Kuban emphasized.

The woman explained that she transferred money to Nurpasha Bekbolatov in December 2016 to return the amount that her husband borrowed from Nurpasha Bekbolatov to purchase tickets from Russia to Egypt.
