KBR resident suspected of discrediting militaries

Law enforcers have drawn up a protocol on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces against Islam Mambetov, a resident of the Zolsky District of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR). The case has been sent to court.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 4, 2022, liability for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces was introduced, after which residents of Southern Russia and the republics of Northern Caucasus began to be held accountable under this article. The maximum punishment under the article for citizens is a fine of 50,000 roubles; however, a repeated violation within a year threatens with criminal prosecution.

With regard to the above Islam Mambetov from the KBR's Zolsky District, law enforcers have drawn up a protocol on discrediting Russian military servicemen, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on February 24, it became known that in the Chegem District, law enforcers had drawn up protocols against local residents Regina Kirts and Denis Trofimov under the article on discrediting the Russian Army.
