Dagestani resident fined under article on discrediting Russian Armed Forces

In the Akhtynsky District of Dagestan, the court imposed a fine on local resident Arsen Burzhaliev, finding him guilty of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on March 4, 2022, liability for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces was introduced in Russia, after which residents of the southern regions of the country and Northern Caucasus began to be brought to responsibility. The maximum penalty is a fine, but a repeated violation within a year may result in criminal prosecution.

The Akhtynsky District Court of Dagestan fined Arsen Burzhaliev 30,000 roubles under the administrative article on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces, the “Kavkaz.Realii”* reported.
