Details of case against Vladikavkaz resident on discrediting army reported
Dmitry Boev, a resident of the city of Vladikavkaz, has been fined for a social network post, in which he compared the symbols of the special military operation (SMO) with fascist symbols.
On February 13, it became known that Boev had been fined for discrediting the Russian Army. The reason for drawing up an administrative protocol against him for discrediting Russian militaries was in his post placed in the "Odnoklassniki" social network, the "Kavkaz.Realii*" project writes.
The ruling posted on the website of the Promyshlenny District Court of Vladikavkaz states that Boev had compared "the official symbol ... used by the Russian Armed Forces during the SMO in Ukraine with fascist symbols." It is also stated that Boev had repented of his deed.
On March 4, 2022, liability for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces was introduced in Russia, after which residents of Southern Russia and the republics of Northern Caucasus began to be held accountable under this article. The maximum punishment provides for a fine of 50,000 roubles for citizens, but a repeated violation within a year threatens with criminal prosecution.
