Resident of Volgograd Region challenges mobilization conscription in court

The Volgograd Garrison Military Court has started considering the case of Dmitry Denisov, a mobilized person, who had accused his district military commissariat (registration and enlistment office) and the draft commission of being called up for mobilization without a medical examination, although he told the members of the commission that he had serious chronic diseases.

The 22-year-old Denisov said that the draft commission had his application and failed to send him to the military medical commission. Together with other conscripts, he was sent to a military unit, where he told his commanders that he had pains in his legs.

In 2018-2019, Denisov served his mandatory military service in the Missile Forces, where he was called up with a mark of health restrictions. In the course of the partial mobilization, he underwent a brief training at the military ground as a senior shooter, and on September 28, 2022, was sent to the special military operation (SMO) zone in Ukraine. There, Denisov took part in hostilities on the frontline for 2.5 months. "We were in the trenches all the time. My illnesses worsened in combat conditions. There were nowhere and no time to be treated there," he has stated.

All Denisov's appeals to the command of the unit about his chronic illnesses were ignored. On January 10, 2023, he prepared a complaint to the military prosecutor's office. His advocate has explained that Denisov's diseases had worsened in the SMO zone; and this poses a danger to his life.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Gleb Guzenko, a resident of Volgograd, was demanding to invalidate the conclusion of the military medical commission and his conscription on mobilization. The commission declared him fit for service with minor restrictions.
