SAM of Chechnya reports about training fighters
Employees of the Chechen Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) and the republic's Imams are undergoing military training at the Russian University of Special Forces in Gudermes in order to be ready for sending to the special military operation (SMO) zone in Ukraine, the SAM (or the Muftiate) has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 15, 2022, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, called on Chechen Sufis to form military units. The addressees of his call are not ideologically disposed to take part in hostilities, analysts have noted.
On December 12, 2022, it became known that in exchange for Kadyrov's support, members of the Ingush Batal-Hadji brotherhood had formed several detachments to participate in the SMO in Ukraine. The brotherhood's SOBR (Special Rapid Response Unit) detachment became part of the "Akhmat" special forces and is already taking part in the SMO, the head of Chechnya has confirmed.
Employees of the SAM of Chechnya are undergoing military training at the Russian University of Special Forces located in the city of Gudermes, the Muftiate has informed.
"The clergymen are being trained in the basics of handling weapons in order to be ready at any moment to go to the frontlines of the SMO. Besides, the Qadis and Imams from all over the republic are also acquiring military skills," the Muftiate has stated in its Instagram* page.
Instructors are teaching the trainees how to shoot from submachine guns, control drones and other military equipment, as well as the field medicine, the report says.
