Kadyrov announces his right to run for president

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has emphasized that he has the right to run for president in Russia, but he will never do that.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on September 3, Ramzan Kadyrov announced that he had “stayed too long” as the leader of Chechnya and was ready to resign. However, later the leader of Chechnya said that he had no right to leave his post without asking the people and the President of Russia. With the announcement of his possible resignation, Ramzan Kadyrov wanted to prompt his career advancement, but without receiving the expected reaction to his statement, he announced plans to remain in office, analysts noted.

During a direct line, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has said that he has the right to run for the presidential election in Russia, like any citizen of the country, but he will never do that.

Ramzan Kadyrov has explained his unwillingness to run for the top post of the country by the fact that it is practically impossible to lead the country after such a “wise and strong man” as Vladimir Putin. Ramzan Kadyrov has wished the Russian President to stay in office for a long time and promised to help him a lot, the RIA “Novosti” reports.

In April 2015, Ramzan Kadyrov announced that, being “an infantryman of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief,” he was subordinate to President Putin and was ready to leave the post if necessary. Ramzan Kadyrov’s statements about his possible resignation are largely a PR stunt, political analysts suggest.
