Disappearance of Chechen blogger Tumso gives rise to versions about special services' operations

Anzor Maskhadov, who has announced the death of the blogger, is not sure of the reliability of his sources; and Shamil Albakov, a member of the Assembly of European Chechens, hopes that an operation conducted by Swedish special services is behind the Tumso's disappearance.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 1, information appeared on the Internet about the murder of Tumso Abdurakhmanov in Sweden. On December 5, Abdurakhmanov's associates reported his murder; and Anzor Maskhadov also confirmed this information.

According to Alexander Cherkasov, a human rights defender, one should not comment on the rumours about Abdurakhmanov's murder without confirmed information, but Chechen political emigrants have been killed in Europe for more than a decade already.

"We now have three scenarios ... Either the Swedish intelligence services received some information and were forced to hide him, as German law enforcers earlier hid his brother Mokhamad; or there really was an assassination attempt, and they immediately took action and hid him; or the third scenario – some incident could have happened in the neighbourhood of the place where Tumso Abdurakhmanov lives; and policemen have decided to urgently hide him," said Shamil Albakov, a member of the Assembly of European Chechens.

He has noted that political refugees in Europe are indeed under threat.

Let us remind you that the Swedish police have not confirmed the reports about the murder of Tumso Abdurakhmanov, the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project has reported.
