Authorities confirm deaths of 850 natives of Southern Russia in Ukraine

Since the start of the military operation in Ukraine, authorities have reported the deaths of at least 850 residents of Southern Russia, including 536 casualties from the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) and 314 ones from the Southern Federal District (SFD). Dagestan is the leader among the regions of southern Russia in terms of the death toll in Ukraine.

The deaths of at least 536 NCFD residents have been officially confirmed, of which 240 fighters are natives of Dagestan. Officials also reported the deaths of 102 natives of North Ossetia, 86 fighters from the Stavropol Territory, 46 natives of Kabardino-Balkaria, 29 residents of Chechnya, 28 natives of Ingushetia and five residents of Karachay-Cherkessia.

Since the start of the military operation, authorities of the SFD regions have reported the deaths of at least 314 persons. Thus, in the Volgograd Region, the deaths of 136 locals have been confirmed, in the Rostov Region the death toll is 60, in the Krasnodar Territory – 52, and in the Astrakhan Region – 45. Besides, the deaths of 11 natives of Adygea and 10 fighters from Kalmykia have been confirmed.

Earlier, analysts pointed to the lack of information on the death toll in Ukraine.
