Head of Dagestan announces payments to families of those mobilized

Every family of the mobilized residents of Dagestan will receive 100,000 roubles as support, Sergey Melikov, the head of the republic, has promised. The recruits themselves also need help, as they have to buy the necessary military equipment, Telegram users have indicated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 4, Salman Dadaev, the Mayor of Makhachkala, said that a special headquarters had been set up in the city to support the families of those mobilized; it will address families' problems. Social network users treat the Mayor's words just as self-publicity, doubting the reality of such support.

Some Telegram commentators have also demanded from authorities to take care of the mobilized themselves. "You better worry that they get good clothes and normal weapons, and that they undergo normal training; but now in Buynaksk, they have buy uniforms themselves," the user Khasan Magomaev has written.

Social network users have also reproached Melikov after his report on attending a "Dynamo" Makhachkala football match. The head of Dagestan should worry about providing the mobilized with clothing and equipment, and not cheer for the footballers, the users have pointed out.
